

Betty Jean Husby, born January 19, 1928 in Everett, Wa passed away peacefully November 15, 2013. Jean, as she always preferred to be called, was 85 years young. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by her spirited husband and dance partner, Charles Raymond Husby, and sisters, June Lowell and Shirley McComber. She is survived by sister, Marlene Copley; brother, Gary Johnson; daughters, Kay Kettel and Gayle McKinnon; son-in-law always, Dan McKinnon; grandchildren, Aaron Kettel, Shawna McKinnon, Erika Kettel, Cameron McKinnon and Mikel McKinnon; great-grandchildren, Loren McKinnon, Brennan McKinnon, Nebiate, Timneat, Ermias, Solomon and Semhar Mulugeta; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Everett, WA, January 21, 1928 to Oscar and Lilly Johnson, Jean had a great love for her family, her Swedish heritage, reading biographies, people watching, and most of all, dancing. She met her husband at a dance and they were married September 13, 1947. Jean and Chuck danced their way through 54 great years together. Civic involvement included Pocahontas, Everett Yacht Club, VFW, Normana, VASA and for many years gathered monthly with a dear group of childhood friends referred to as "Club". Jean was a kind, intelligent, thoughtful, respectful and classy lady. While she will be so sadly missed she will be forever loved and appreciated for all she did and all she was. Celebration of life to be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 3:00p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2324 Lombard St. Everett, WA. Reception to follow.
