David “Dave” Borg died peacefully in his home after a 11 month battle with Glioblastoma. He was surrounded by his wife Trish, his good friend Lisa Miller and his son Riley. He was 58 years old. He was born in Everett, WA, the only son of Herbert “Herbie” Walter and Dolly Francis (Davis) Borg. He is survived by his wife Tricia, his stepsister Debbie Ver Valen and his son Riley Borg. Dave was a devoted husband, brother and father who loved his family deeply.
Dave was a lifelong resident pf Marysville, WA graduating from Marysville Pilchuck class of 1981. He worked for 35+ years as Pressman for the Marysville Globe and Sound Publishing. He was active in DeMolay and later became Master Mason in Peninsular Lodge in Everett where he made many lifelong lasting friendships.
He was the happiest when he was spending time with family and friends helping them with their building projects. He enjoyed “flipping houses” and other demolition projects, using his tractor digging in the dirt, moving/clearing fields/digging ditches. He was always able to figure something out and how to make it work better. He had a very exacting, perfectionistic nature which enabled him to produce very fine well built finished projects. He was a hard worker and a very skilled craftsman. On his off time he enjoyed camping at Deception Pass cooking on a camp stove or using a cast iron dutch oven, sitting by the campfire eating s’mores or drinking a Porter or walking on the beach and listening to the waves. He also enjoyed nothing better than sitting on the beach in Maui, under an umbrella reading a book.
He had the most beautiful blue eyes, bright smile and wicked sense of humor. He loved life, his family and friends. He was a kind and generous man who gave freely of his time and skill and will be greatly missed by many.
A small Masonic graveside service for family will be performed by his brothers from local Masonic Lodges. A celebration of life will be scheduled for 2022 around his birthday. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, WA.
