Don grew up enjoying the experience of living in several NW States, including California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. Don spent his high school years at Shoreline High School in Seattle, Wa. He joined the Army at 17 and shipped out to boot camp shortly after turning 18. He volunteered to go to Vietnam where he served as a Transportation Specialist, delivering ammunition to the troops. He excelled in the Army, moving to E5 rank within a year.
Coming back to the states, he spent a small stint in Texas before moving back to Seattle where he was employed in construction, which quickly moved to the electrical industry. He spent 27 years as a successful Journeyman Electrician with IBEW LOCAL 46.
Don met his wife, Mary in 1986. They married in 1994 and raised their family in Lake Stevens, Wa.
Don was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed long road trips and vacations riding. He also loved camping, especially with the grandkids, friends and his best friend, his dog Spirit. He was a loyal Seahawks fan, never missing a game and rooting his team on. He always kept everyone laughing with his quick wit humor. Don also had a heart as big as they come. He was generous to a fault. A week before Christmas 2016, he spent the day at the mall, approaching single mothers, giving them $100. He was always willing to help the other guy. He considered everyone family and treated them as such.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
