

Dorothy Hamilton was born April 16, 1931 in New York City. Parent were Walter and Caroline Meek (Perkins); she was the eldest of three children; brother John (Jack) and Caroline (Carol).
She graduated High School in Gresham, Oregon in 1948. She Joined the US Navy in 1952; she trained in Bainbridge, Maryland, later was stationed in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated to Hospitalman (Nursing) at the Hospital Corp School in Great Lakes, Illinois in November 1953. She was transferred to San Diego Naval Hospital where she met her future Husband, Raymond.
Dorothy and Raymond were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955. They were married for 39 years. They had four children; Teresa born in Dec 1956, Kathryn born in June 1959, Douglas born in October 1960 and Daniel born in October 1962. We took various vacations in our family’s motorhome to location such as Grand Canyon,Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and locations in Canada.
She had 5 grandchildren; Rachel Santos, Steven, Kristen, Joseph Van Klaveren and Destiny Hamilton and 4 great grandchildren; Andrew O'Donnell and Adele, Sofie, Archer Van Klaveren.
Dorothy worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Modesto, CA until 1985. They retired to Lake Stevens, Washington in 1985 with Ray & the boys. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also en-joyed having many dogs over the years.
She lived most this past year with her Daughter, Kathryn and son in law Tony who were her caregivers to the end.
