

Dorothy M. Isaksen, 101 of Marysville, Washington, passed away on September 7, 2015.
She was born May 12, 1914 in Bow, Washington to Maude Rebecca (Walton) LaFave and Clifford LaFave. She was the last of 5 children.
Dorothy earned her BA degree in teaching at New Whatcom Normal School, now Western Washington University. She started her teaching career in Startup, then taught in Everett and Machias. She retired from teaching at Jackson Elementary in Everett having worked as a teacher for over 30 years.
She was a longtime member of Central Lutheran Church in Everett and a member of the Daughters of Norway.
Dorothy enjoyed golf and played into her 90’s. She was an avid bridge player, even played with her bridge club only 5 days before she passed. Dorothy also enjoyed spending time reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She married Harold Isaksen on December 27, 1938 in Everett.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1988; her grandson, Douglas Capps; her sister, Lucille Zwaschka; and three brothers, Earl, Frank and Floyd LaFave.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Capps; her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Janet Isaksen; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14th at Central Lutheran Church - 2702 Rockefeller Ave Everett WA 98201.
Private crypt side services at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, Everett.
Arrangements entrusted to Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery.
