Washington where she resided most of her life, died April 14th 2016. She was a loving and caring person who always put family and friends needs in front of her own. In addition to being a terrific homemaker she was a Girl Scout leader, founding member of the Emander Community Club, and an instrumental part of the development of McCollum Park. Neighbors, friends, and family would love to gather at her house because she always made everyone feel welcome, and she would have some kind of baked treat waiting for them. She loved to bake and became quite skilled at decorating wedding and anniversary cakes. Edith graduated from Everett High School. She stayed in contact with a lot of the women in her class. They would get together often, and kept the high school bond in place for several decades. She was also an avid bowler and formed several friendships through her bowling leagues. Edith was preceded in death by her parents George and Nancy Jorgensen, husband Stan, and sister Edna DeYoung. She leaves behind three daughters Sandie Phipps, Lillian (Jack) Mikelsen, Edie (Mike) Smith, granddaughter Michelle (Loren) Harvey, grandson Ian Smith, granddaughter Erin Smith, great grandson Cameron Harvey. The family would like to thank Rhonda, Jimmy, Betty, and Brigit for all of the care, love, and happiness they brought into her life as well as ours. A celebration of her life will be held April 22nd at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home. Although we can’t physically have her in our lives any longer she will live in our hearts forever.
Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
