I met Fred & Rose Marie at the Collector's Choice Restaurant, when I was the Hostess & Baker there. I found out early on that Fred REALLY needed his coffee in the mornings. After that, whenever I saw Fred & Rose Marie coming across the parking lot towards the restaurant, I went straight to the kitchen & got a fresh, hot cup of coffee, so it would be ready for him when they came in the door, to wait for a table. It was always SUPER busy on the weekends when they'd come, so he was really grateful for his coffee. Rose Marie was grateful as well, because later she told me, "Thank-you for making him better". LOL!... Fred & Rose Marie were some of my favorite guests at the restaurant & I wish we had been able to keep in touch these past ten years. I never stopped wondering how they might be doing... My condolences to the family for their loss of Fred. I pray you all will feel the comfort of God's loving arms wrapped around you during your season of sorrow... Hugs, Krys Rockwood

My Uncle Fred was a big part of my life while growing up. He was always there at Holidays and being such a busy man that was always appreciated. Whether it was Christmas at our place or Thanksgiving at their place it was a Joy to have him there. The trip to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm still leaves warm memories to this day and I was 12 at that time. He and Aunt Rosemarie have been like second parents. Fill my cup has a special meaning after that trip. We will miss your sense of humor and wit. While working in Everett I was able to  stay at their place a few times and always enjoyed the visits with them and Rascal and Missy. We will miss you  a lot ! Thank you for all the memories.

Uncle Fred was always there at holidays when we were growing up.  I loved his sense of humor!  He made the holidays extra fun. 
 Sometimes we had the get-togethers at our house, and other times at Fred and Rose Marie's.  I liked going to their house and playing with their animals:  their German Shepherds, Duchess and Heidi, and all of their different cats through the years.  One of my favorite memories is when Fred and Rose Marie took me, Sues, and Karl to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.  All of us had so much fun - kids and adults alike!   When I think of Fred, I remember his smile and his laugh.  It makes me smile, and I am so blessed that I knew him.

The sudden loss of Uncle Fred. or affectionately my UF, has left a big hole in my, and many others' hearts.  He will be forever remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and incredibly quick wit. He had a great comeback to almost anything!  When I called him my favorite uncle, he'd remind me that he was my only uncle! 

The only time I saw him speechless was when our family was playing dominoes and I looked up something on my phone.   He was sitting next to me and the information that came back was not what either of us expected.   We could hardly stop laughing and continued to laugh about it for years!  

I am so fortunate to have had him in my life.  As a child,  holidays,  overnight stays, and even a trip to Disneyland with him and ARM were so greatly anticipated and enjoyed.  Later as an adult, annual get togethers in Portland and Everett were treasured.   I am so grateful that my children were able to get to know this incredible man.  He will be missed, and I am glad there are so many fond memories to help ease the pain. Rest in peace, UF.
