Gloria Revello Hiblar

Gloria Lucia Revello Hiblar was born on November 13, 1930 in Cle Elum WA, a first generation Italian American. She passed away May 30, 2024 in Kirkland WA.

At the age of 11, Gloria was very proud to teach English and US History to her mother to enable her to pass the exam to become a US citizen. In 1949 Gloria graduated from Cle Elum High School. She participated in dance, drama, and was the yearbook editor. Gloria also captained the basketball and softball teams and earned letters in multiple sports. She graduated from Central Washington College with a BA in Education in 1953. While working as a teacher, Gloria continued her graduate studies. On December 28, 1951 Gloria married William “Bill” Hiblar at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cle Elum WA. They celebrated nearly 72 years of marriage.

Gloria’s teaching career took her to Kapowsin Grade School, Forks High School, Moxee High School, Yakima Central Catholic High School, AC Davis High School, Olympia High School and Capital High School. She taught English, History, Physical Education, and Traffic Safety. From 1985 to 1995, Gloria worked as the Registrar at Olympia High School.

Gloria was an active member of St. Michael’s Parish in Olympia. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Legion of Mary and assisted with the Funeral Ministry for many years.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Maria Revello, her husband William Hiblar, her sisters Joan Favero, Laura Revello, Flora (Revello) Mansfield and her brother Peter Favero.

Gloria is survived by her daughters Maria (Jon Ramberg), Michele (Bob Watters), grandchildren Timothy (Kelsey) Ramberg and Anthony (Stephanie) Watters; great-grandson Ryan Ramberg, and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria’s love for God influenced all that she did. Her family was very important to her, and she loved actively sharing in all their lives. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gloria loved reading, music and watching her children and grandchildren’s activities.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Parish in Lynnwood on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at 11 AM. Burial will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett Washington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Gloria Hiblar to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
