James J. Clevenger, 64, of Lake Stevens, WA., passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Jim grew up in Mercerville, N.J. where he attended Steinert High School and later Rutgers University, earning a degree in electrical engineering. Soon after, Jim was recruited by Boeing to join the Defense Engineering Department where he worked for the next 33 years until his retirement in 2015 at age 55.
In his free time Jim enjoyed music – in particular the drums. He often entertained friends and family with covers of favorite bands like Aerosmith and Emerson Lake and Palmer. In spite of his dedication to music, Jim also recognized true love when he saw it. He met his loving wife, Karen, in 1981 and sold his entire drum set in order to buy her an engagement ring. They were happily married for 43 years. Jim is also survived by sons Matthew of Kansas City, MO. and Ross along with his wife Larisa, of Ellicott CO., brother Brian, and sister Terri Pasicznyk He is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Joyce Clevenger.
A memorial service for Jim will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
