John Edgar Curry

February 21, 1959 – December 14, 2025

John Edgar Curry, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at home surrounded by family on December 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Glendora, California, John spent his early years in Torrance before his family relocated to Everett, Washington. He graduated from Mariner High School in 1977 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University in 1982.

John’s professional journey began at the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station in Keyport, Washington, and later led him to the Fluke Corporation in Everett. He also contributed his talents to various companies, including an IT startup, Holland America, and Nordstrom, from which he retired as Principal Software Engineer in 2024 after 17 fulfilling years.

John welcomed his daughter Chaney (1985), and son Preston (1987). In 1993, he married the love of his life, Alicia, and embraced a blended family, welcoming Jon and Aubrey, into his heart. Together, John and Alicia shared 32 wonderful years, filled with love, travel, and cherished memories, particularly their adventures to the Philippines and cruises. He felt Alicia “opened his eyes to all life had to offer” and she felt the same of him.

John took great pride in his children and stepchildren, witnessing them grow into successful adults.

His wit and humor were ever-present, and he often remarked in his own pre-written words, “Don’t worry about me, I’ve had a great life with no regrets—well, maybe one or two, but it’s too late now.”

He is predeceased by his parents; Karolyn and Edgar Curry, his brother James Curry, his sisters; Jenny Liedel and Karolyn Blank.

He is survived by his best friend and wife Alicia, his children Chaney Curry (Megan), Preston Curry (Jessica), Jon Jandoc (Bronwynn and Aubrey Roque (Joshua).

He also leaves his legacy behind in his grandchildren Nevaeh Tugaoen, Brandon Roque, Henry Roque, Liam Curry and Parker Curry.

John’s love, resilience, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A visitation will be held on December 30, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, located at 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, USA.

The funeral service is scheduled for the same day at the same venue from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A reception will follow from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the same location.
