John Douglas Hunt Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle R. Hunt and sister, Arletta Hunt McClendon, both of St Louis, Missouri; two grandsons, Noah B. Hunt of Breese, Illinois and Jeffrey R. Brambach of Seattle, Washington. Nieces Sharon McClendon, Denise McClendon, Barbara (Stephen) Hunt Hamilton, Evelyn (Steve) Hunt Smith. Nephews Anthony (Stephanie) Hunt and Frank S. (Martha) McClendon. Along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Adopted family in Washington include Brian (Faridah) Major, Steven (More Ming Hi) Major, Patricia Nielsen and family, long-time friends/neighbors Barry and Darlene Stroyan and “Kitty”.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Hunt, Sr., Georgia Anna Littlejohn Hunt, stepmother Elizabeth Smith Hunt; siblings Wilma Hunt and Robert Hunt; sons Bryan G. Hunt and John D. Hunt, III; and wife Patricia Ann Holbrook Walker Hunt.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1937, John attended Sumner High School, graduating in January 1956. On September 13, 1958, John married Eloise B. Hudson, in St Louis, Missouri. On August 11, 1961, John was drafted into the United States Army, serving tours at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Pyong Yang, Korea. He was honorably discharged in June 1963.

John began his career in the aerospace industry in 1956, working for McDonnell-Douglass Aircraft Corporation in St Louis, Missouri. John worked on the NASA Mercury Project and as a Production Planner.

After relocating to Seattle, Washington with his family in July 1966, John worked for Boeing Airplane Company as a Production Planner. He also worked for Allstate Insurance Company and later at ELDEC Corporation as a Production Planner before retiring on February 4, 2004.

An avid sportsman, John enjoyed playing baseball, softball, skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, Everett, Washington. A celebration of life and interment at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Everett, Washington will occur at a later date.
