On March 21, 2017, God received the most beautiful precious and loving angel ever! Mom was born August 5th 1931 in Bellingham, Washington to Marguerite and John Hinds. She worked mostly as a cook, but also waitressed, cleaned houses, and worked in nursing homes. She raised nine children; Jim Spreine, Cherie Wommer, John Hinds Sr. Jack Hinds, Bobbi Wampler, Pete Spreine, Gary Spreine, Jody Wood, Matt Chism, she also had a very special love…for Mikey, whom she considered to be one of her sons. She lived for her children and grandchildren, family and friends. She was the glue that held us all together…our rock and our protector.
Her unconditional love for us, and all people, was a true testament to how big her heart really was. She gave food to whoever had need of it. If someone needed money, she gave without a second thought. She allowed several people to live with her; no one ever got turned away. She donated to several charities; ST Jude Children’s hospital wounded Warriors Project, ASPCA, and St. Mathews Churches, she always gave to anyone who needed help. She was always there for us. She looked out for our safety and wellbeing. She taught us how to cope with the world around us. She also taught us how to love unconditionally with compassion and forgiveness. Her love for God was remarkable and her sense of humor was legendary and loved by all who knew her. She loved to play bingo with all her family and friends. This was her most cherished pastime. She also loved to fish off of the docks in Mukilteo; she loved to read, solve crossword puzzles, and watch the game show network. Boy did she have a great love for candy, and anything sweet, family gatherings, especially Christmas…she lived for Christmas and waited all year for it. She had a special love for all animals including bugs; she also had an obsession for odd things, like weird knick-knacks, trolls, faeries anything different. She loved sitting on the deck watching the rabbits and deer frolic and play in the yard. Her smile lit up our hearts and lives. She was one in a million. She was preceded in death by her son Jack Hinds, and her husband, Harold Chism. She passed peacefully, with her loved ones by her side. Viewing will be held Saturday March 25, from 12 to 4 pm. The funeral will be held on Monday March 27 at 11 am and graveside services 12 pm. Services will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery. We would like to thank the staff at the hospice center for all their loving care of June. A celebration of her life will be held at her granddaughter’s house, her second home. We will be sharing stories and memories of our lives touched by June our Mother, grandmother, and best friend.
