Born on October 18, 1954, in Everett, Washington to John and Virginia (Fithian) Phipps.
Jyl was a proud member of the first graduating class of Mariner High School. She later went on to work at the Department of Social and Health Services as a financial Service Specialist for 38 dedicated years.
At age 58, Jyl married the love of her life, Dan where they spent 13 wonderful years together.
She enjoy crafting, travel and was an avid reader. Jyl had a love of hand making cards for her friends and family.
Jyl loved all of her furry children that she was privileged to live with throughout the years and wanted to relieve the suffering of abused animals by donating to animal welfare organizations.
She also supported many children through Children International after being inspired by a trip o India in 1983, where she observed many children living in poverty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia, and is lovingly remembered alongside her husband, Dan.
A Memorial Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, US, on May 11, 2026 at 1:00PM with a graveside service to follow.
