Kenneth M. Vereb, age 78 passed away December 7th at Harborview Medical Center from injuries that he sustained in an automobile accident on November 24th on Camano Island. Ken was born and went to school in Roslyn, Washington. He joined the army when he completed high school and returned to graduate from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. Ken worked for the Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole in Seattle, until he joined the Kind county Prosecutors office where he remained until he retired, doing investigative pre-sentence reports for that office.
Starting with the Seattle Rainier’s, Ken was a true baseball fan and he and his friends supported the Mariners from their beginning. He looked forward to spring training every year in Arizona and he had friends from all over the country that would join him there. Ken was very proud of his Croatian heritage and he was a member of the Roslyn-Ronald Heritage Club since the club’s inception. Ken is survived by his brothers Mick (Nina) and Ger and his step-father Arden Bloom. He was preceded in death by his mother Darlene (Kauzlarich) Bloom and father Frank Vereb.
His private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett with his beloved mother. Donations and remembrances can be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
