

Lestie L. Vail, passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born on January 26, 1938, in Everett, Washington. Lestie graduated from Everett High School in 1955 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in teaching from the University of Washington. She devoted her entire career to teaching high school physical education in California, leaving a lasting impact on her students.
Upon retirement she returned home to Everett and then Marysville to be close to her family. Lestie was very active in her high school reunions and Old Time Country Music. She loved fixing things, spending time at the cabin/family homestead in Arlington and enjoyed spending time with her sisters, family and friends. As the eldest of three daughters, family was central to Lestie’s life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Margaret Vail, sister Linda Vail, and brother-in-law Vern Ledford.
Lestie is survived by her sister LaVern Ledford, nieces and nephews, Tami Burdett, Shawn (Rose) Ledford, Tonya (Jay) Nelson, and Lance (Anne) Ledford, great-nieces and nephews, Taylor, Courtney, Coby, Kaiden, Shane and Mason, great-great-nieces and nephews, Graham, Lottie and Lachlan.
Lestie L. Vail will be remembered for her passion for teaching, her love for her family, and her kind spirit. Her legacy of dedication, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Per her wishes a service will not be held.
