Olga Haritonovna Lavrentyev was born April 13, 1931 in the Christian family of Hariton and Ksenia Mironets. In a family of 7 children, she was the oldest and, therefore, she took care of her younger siblings. Her childhood was not easy as she grew up during World War II. She was raised in the village of Drukhova, where she made a covenant with the Lord and took water baptism.
In 1951, she married Mefodiy Evmenovich Lavrentyev, with whom she lived for 58 years. She gave birth to eight children, two of whom died in babyhood.
After the return of her husband from the army, their first son, Nikolay, was born, and they moved with their baby son to Siberia, to the city of Vorkuta. After spending some time there, they decided to return to Ukraine, and at that time, their second son, Mikhail, was born. In 1958, they moved to the city of Krivoy Rog with their two young sons. There, she bore five more children: Grigory, Vladimir, Tamara, Sergey.
At this time in Ukraine, believers were persecuted. They were infringed in rights, let go from work, subjected to courts and fines, and all this was experienced by Olga. However, no threats or difficulties quenched her sincere faith in the Lord.
In 1973, the family moved to the city of Kostopol. They quickly began to get fined for prayer meetings that took place in their home. Olga tried to never miss any church services, especially prayers, as she was very fond of praying. Prayer was a big part of her life – she was in the spirit of prayer when she woke up and when she went to bed. She also loved to sing and was involved in church choir.
In 1989, she moved to America with her family and spent the last 29 years living in Washington State. God gifted Olga 87 years and 10 days to live on this earth. During her life, she and her husband built three homes, raised six children, and left her legacy with 39 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. “’Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
