On Friday April 2nd, 2021 Ounkham Ounkeo passed away at the age of 85 from pulmonary edema and old age. Ounkham was born on May 1st, 1935 in Ban Houayxay, Laos as the 3rd eldest son out of his 6 siblings. On a trip to Thailand he met Phon and on October 10th, 1967 they married later having 3 daughters and a son.
As a war survivor himself he moved his family through many refugee camps until they were finally able to immigrate to Ada, Ohio in 1984. Not too long afterwards they transitioned to Visalia, California for 14 years. One by one his kids started moving up north to Washington, eventually by May 2004 his wife and him joined them. Gradually the Ounkeo family began growing and by 2004 he had 6 grandkids whom he loved dearly.
The years leading to his final year was full of laughter, joy, and watching videos of chickens fighting. Though he will be missed greatly, the Ounkeo’s will carry his legacy on as he now rests in peace.
