Richard "Rick" Charles Pickrell was born May 24, 1941, to parents Rose (Burdick) Pickrell and Cyrus Elliott Pickrell in Seattle, Washington. He was the youngest of four children. Rick was called home to Heaven on March 26, 2020.
Rick attended Queen Anne High School and Kings High School, both in Seattle. He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963, was stationed in Asia and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was very proud of his military service.
Rick was an avid sports fan, enjoying both football and basketball. He was a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks for many years. He also enjoyed playing chess online. Rick was an outgoing, friendly person. He never knew a stranger and loved to talk to people. By the end of a conversation, he was your friend.
On March 24, 1988, Rick committed his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His relationship with Jesus was very important to him and he committed to serve him daily. His greatest desire was that all would come to have a personal relationship with Jesus as he did. Rick enjoyed talking about history, especially Christian church history and about the Bible.
Rick loved his family so very much. Beside his faith, family was most important to him. He is survived by his wife Cindy, seven children: LaTisha, Todd (Shay), Melissa (Bryan), Michael (Shena), Joshua (Alexa), Daniel and Jennifer, a sister Bettie Cookson, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
