Robert Jake Troll graduated to heaven on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was working at the family’s property in Seaside, Oregon, when he passed away. Jake’s love for his Savior Jesus Christ; his wife, Kathy; his sons, Christopher and Jonathan; and his love for his country and neighbors was well expressed. Some words to describe Jake include: loving, loyal, caring, kind, steward, methodical, and joyful, to name a few.
Jake was born December 10, 1950, in Everett, Washington. His family moved to Lake Stevens in 1954, where he attended Pilchuck Elementary School, Lake Stevens Junior High School and Lake Stevens High School. He graduated from high school in 1969 and earned an Associate Degree in history from Everett Community College. He later returned to Everett Community College and became a certified welder. After college, Jake worked for Reinell Boats in Marysville, Washington, and enjoyed his time there until 1979 when Reinell closed.
Jake was quickly hired on at The Boeing Company because of his prior manufacturing experience. He received training at Washington Technical School and started his 32-year career at Boeing. His primary work at Boeing was in composite repair at the Renton and Everett plants. One of his most enjoyable work assignments was that of Air Force One as he worked during the presidencies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Jake retired in 2013.
During his early years, Jake attended Calvary Lutheran Church in Everett and later attended Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens. He sang in the church choir and served as an usher. Jake and Kathy were married in 1979 at Ebenezer in Lake Stevens and in 1979 attended New Life Foursquare Church in Everett until 1995. Since 1995, Jake and Kathy also attended Marysville Foursquare, Mukilteo Foursquare, The City Church (Churchome) in Kirkland, and Sonrise Christian Center in Everett, WA.
Jake loved his family. He would be sure to clear his weekends to take the family on outings. Many summers were filled with family camping and road trips in their family’s RV. Each summer, trips were made to Seaside, Oregon for several days until Jake decided upon retirement that the family should buy a home there. In 2013, the family purchased a home and it has served as a great vacation spot as well as a place for retreats. Jake would say that when it was his time to leave this earth and be with his Lord, he would want to leave at Seaside. The Lord honored that and he passed while there.
Jake had a strong faith in the Lord and was never afraid to die. His greatest delight was caring for his family and inviting others to enjoy what the Lord had given to him. He will be greatly missed. However, he will be remembered forever and we look forward to our reunion in Heaven. In addition to his wife and sons, Jake is survived by his brothers William (Kathryn) Troll, Curtis (Carol) Troll, and nephews Nathan (Miranda), Ryan (Rebekah), and Ellis (Mia) and their families.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 4, at Evergreen Funeral Home from 12:00-1:30 p.m. and a graveside service at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Sonrise Christian Center (11625 Airport Road in Everett, WA) on Saturday, June 19, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seattle Bible College (seattlebiblecollege.edu) or Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
