Steve was the Love of my life, I will miss him. His smile, his love and kindness will always be in our hearts. Soar with the eagles and always hold on to the memories you shared with him. He was a special person and will never be forgotten.

I just heard about Steve's passing. Aviation just lost another pillar. I have work with, for and around Steve for the better part of 20 years. The privilege was all mine. He was a great teacher and was always willing to provide guidance. He was strong in his beliefs of what was right and wrong. Thank you Steve for being who you are and touching my life

Such sadness to have to say goodbye to a great man.  I had the honor of supporting Steve as his HRG support at the Delivery Center at Boeing and I will never forget his smile, his laugh, his passion for his employee's and for Quality.  I will never forget the time when I happened to be standing by Steve out on the flight line when he was watching one of our customers fly away.  As he watched the plane take off he said Gawd I still get goose bumps every time they take off.  At that moment I realized how much Steve loved what he did and how much he believed in Quality.  As people pass through our life's without us realizing it at the time they make an imprint in our life.  This was one of those moments for me.  He left us all too soon but has left us all with his legacy. A great man gone, but remembered.

I met Steve in Sud-Mod and we crossed paths over the next 25 years at Boeing. What I remember most was his smile and laugh. RIP in peace Steve and my thoughts and prays go out to Judy, family and close friends.

Steve helped and advised me throughout my Boeing career. In my opinion he was the best at what he did and he was compasionate doing it. Not only was he good at what he did, but he was good to people along the way.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Steve's illness and passing away. I want to express and extend my deepest condolences to Steve's family and friends. I worked with Steve for a number of years at Boeing and always found him to be not only knowledgeable and professional but always a great guy that was willing to help work together for both Boeing and their Customers. I was very sad to hear of Steve's Passing.  I started working for Boeing after spending 4 years in the Navy.  I joined the 747 41 section group and Steve was the first individual that I meet, he was the area lead.  The first thing he told me was he ran a group much tougher than the Navy. Oh that went well, he was always fair and always made time to chat encouragement.  If not at work he always had time over the years for a cup of coffee (HA)  at the 747.  I will defiantly remember the good times, sorry for your lose.

Steve was the very first Boeing Employee I ever worked with, in fact he trained me on day one and for months to follow. 37 years we worked again at the EDC, he was a great man, an outstanding employee full of knowledge, and a friend.  Steve you will be missed but never forgotten!!

Steve was not just a brother-in-law, he was a brother-in-family. Generous to a fault. A loving and caring husband, brother, and father and son. Just a great guy that will be missed for a long time. All the rivers and streams are a safer place with Steve's passing as he was a great fisherman. Steve was also an excellent cook as our waistlines will attest. Semper Fi! Love ya Buddy!

Steve was a great friend. He was a man of honesty, integrity and character. He shared his extensive knowledge and wisdom with me when we worked together on the Boeing Everett flight line and later when we worked together on the 747 program. Through collaboration on many issues and assignments, we enjoyed mutual success. It was such a pleasure working with him. We kept in touch following our retirements and I was saddened when I learned  of his diagnosis, and even more so in his passing. The world has lost a great man and leader. Steve was one of those guys that you respected for always knowing where he stood on a topic. We have lost another one of the Old Guard. My thoughts are with Judy and family.

Steve was highly intelligent with a big heart and the best boss in the whole wide world and the world will be a lesser place without him. So many people are affected by this because he touched thousands of us with his presence. He is sorely missed.

The loss of Steve is hard to accept when I recall the conversations and the smile and laughter I enjoyed. He was a great advisor and a firm leader. Once he knew you were straight up with him he had your back without question. When we first met it was a bit of challenge but we soon became close friends. I told him one afternoon I would like to learn a little more about the AOG business. After I left his office he walk around the corner and told his managers I was the new team member. For that experience I would like to say thank you Steve. 
He will be remembered and those memories will be enjoyed.

I didn't know Steve very well. We had mutual acquaintances. The times I did interact with him, he was kind to me. From what I do know, he was very respected by all. I wish all the best for his family and his friends. By reputation alone, the Boeing family lost a vital part of what makes it a great company. He was old school, and boy do I miss those days. I feel honored to at least have known him, albeit briefly.

Always sad when you find yet another classmate has passed away.  I didn't see Steve very much after high school, ran into him on occasion , and those times were just like the yesterday days....
We chumed around together in school, and after school was out for the day, and the weekends.

I first met Steve in early 1981, as a "newbie" on the Boeing of Everett Flight Line.  He took me under his wing and taught me the ins and outs of being a Flight Line Quality Assurance Inspector. I am forever indebted to him for his kindness and sharing of knowledge.  I have several fond memories of various golfing adventures with Steve that put a smile on my face when thought about. Steve was a highly respected quality leader at Boeing, very well 
earned. I firmly believe that there are airplanes staying in the air even today because he was who he was.

We were privileged to call Steve one of our closest friends.  We enjoyed vacationing and spending time with Judy and Steve over the past 20 years. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.

My thoughts and love go out to Judy and the family. When I returned to Boeing in 1989 from my FAA job in Chicago Steve helped me to begin a new job called "off site mod". He was a great mentor, and a wonderful friend. All of my Boeing days together with Steve and Judy and all of the many friends we had will always be cherished. God be with you.

I met Steve in the 42 body section back in March 1979,and have followed Steve  through out my time at Boeing. Steve always believed in his people and always stuck up for each and everyone. It was very sad to see such a great person who had a lot of respect towards everyone go so quickly. 
 Steve has been in my prayers,ever since I heard of his illness and I will keep him in my prayer,s and thoughts through the rest of my life. 
  May the Blessed Mother look after Steve now.

I am so sorry for your loss. 
 
I had the privilege of working with Steve during the 787 Road to Delivery era in 2007 and 2008 and then again when he came back as a contractor working in the Everett AOG/Repair Station.  I always considered Steve a class act.  I used to love it when he left a meeting and said, Good show.  I actually adopted this practice from Steve and still use it from time to time (to give a meeting my personal stamp of approval").  Every time I say it I think of Steve.
 
I admired Steve very much.  His mind was amazing.  He had a memory like a steel trap.  Steve had a very sensible and systemic way of viewing the world.  There wasn't much that I didn't agree with him on.  He could see the forest, the trees, and the blades of grass.
 
In 2014 I sat next to Steve for the entire year.  He mentored me (and had the opportunity to show off that great mind of his).  I learned a lot from Steve, both on a business level and a personal level.  He will never be forgotten.
 
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
