Timothy Potterf 63, of Everett, Washington, passed away on December 18, 2025, reuniting at last with his beloved child who passed before him. Though his life was shaped by adversity, his unwavering love for his family and his quiet strength defined his legacy.
Born on April 30, 1962, in Bremerton, Washington, Timothy was one of six children. He was a man of many talents—a skilled drywall finisher by trade, a builder of homes (including the one he shared with his family), and a fixer of all things. He could often be found under the hood of a car, at a workbench crafting something with his hands, or on the water fishing with his best friend, Jay Tetrick, undeterred by rain or cold.
Timothy’s greatest joy was his family. He met the love of his life, Christy, and traded his baseball glove and cleats for a lifetime of adventure with her. Together, they spent 37 years side by side—camping under the stars, skiing the slopes of Whistler or Stevens Pass, and traveling from Canada to Mexico and enjoying several trips to Hawaii. Their world expanded with the birth of Jamie Christine (Foster), on January 17, 2001, who became the center of Timothy’s universe. Fatherhood transformed him; Disneyland replaced mountain peaks as his favorite destination, and his devotion to Jamie knew no bounds.
In 2005, a tragic accident left Timothy with a spinal cord injury, altering his life forever. He continued to prioritize his family, offering love, wisdom, and humor even in the simplest moments. The loss of Foster in 2020 shattered his heart, but his love for his child endured.
He is predeceased by his mom Barbara Peterson, his dad Bud Potterf, his sister Terri, his nephew Carey Parker and his beloved child.
Tim is survived by his wife Christy, his brothers Ernie and Ric Potterf, his sisters Carol Parker and Kathy Johnson and countless nieces and nephews.
"A life measured not by ease, but by love.
Together again."
For a second you were flying
Like you always wanted to
Now you’ll fly forever
In skies of azure blue
We’ll see your smile in every ray
Of sunshine after rain
And hear the echo of your laughter
Over all the pain
The world’s a little quieter now
The colours have lost their hue
The birds are singing softly
And our hearts are missing you
Each time we see a little cloud
Or a rainbow soaring high
We’ll think of you and gently
Wipe a tear from our eye.
