Anthony “Tony” Farfan, was born to Antonio and Aurora Farfan in San Jose, CA on November 5, 1932. He was raised in Santa Clara, CA along with his two older sisters, Dawn and Josephine. One of Tony’s interests as a young man was fast cars. He loved cruising First Street in San Jose and going to the Fremont drag strip. Some of his other interests included fishing and bird hunting, which he continued to enjoy throughout his long life. Prior to graduating from Santa Clara High School in 1951, he discovered the “Whatzit Club” in Santa Clara, which was a fun and safe place for young people to enjoy their peers. In the club they enjoyed music, dancing and entertainment, and this is where he met mom Beverly Lopez.
After graduating, he began a career in the plumbing field working for Anthony Ruiz, who owned Santa Clara Plumbing and was engaged to Josephine Farfan, Tony’s sister. Soon after, he was hired by Amaral Plumbing of Santa Clara, where he achieved his journeyman status and worked up until his retirement in 1987.
Tony and Beverly were married in 1952, starting their family in 1954 with April, Amanda and Alex. Through their adult years, Tony and Beverly enjoyed buying and remodeling several homes, which they continued doing once relocating to the Sacramento area in 1987. Once retired, Tony and Beverly renewed their ongoing love of cars, buying their 1934 Ford and 1937 Chevrolet. The two of them spent many a day going to the local shows.
Last, but certainly not least, there is one thing that must be said and this story would be incomplete without mentioning their love for cards and playing Aggravation, which began prior to starting their family, and continuing through our younger years, to us kids, it seemed like every weekend we were piled into the car, off for another night of cards! Dad's desire to play continued up until his final week of life, playing and winning more than we would like to admit!!!
GET THE CARDS!
Tony is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, his wife (our mom) Beverly, and daughter (our sister) Mandy, what a sweetheart.

And lastly; there are two VERY special people that have to be mentioned here today.
