Mom passed away at 86. Born in St. Louis, she grew up in Los Angeles with her parents, Eva and Sol Gordon, and her brothers Harvey and Ron. She was married to Saul Mendelsohn for 25 years, raising her family in Huntington Beach, Long Beach, and Visalia before settling in the Sacramento region to be close to her daughters, Lani, Nancy, and Tami, the center of her world. 👩👧👧

Mom was a proud grandmother of five Chelsey Peppers Brandon Condie , Brooke & Julia Stamp, Spencer Fierstein and great-grandmother of three, Jordan, Madelyn & Chloe.
She was kind, gentle, and warm. She loved dancing 💃, and in the 1980s she and Dad would do the Cha Cha and Western two-step. Her license plate said it all: “Happiness is Dancing.”
Her daughters treasure memories of simple joys: visiting Chevy’s and wearing a balloon hat that connected all four of them 🎈, trips to the Renaissance Fair with a butterfly painted on her cheek 🦋, shopping at Kmart, Mervyn’s, and later Chelsea Street for blingy, sparkling clothes ✨. She wore denim jackets, jumpers, tassels, and loved animal print clothing and blankets.
Mom had a sweet tooth 🍪 and favorite treats including See’s Candies pecan rolls, powdered sugar Mexican Wedding Cake cookies. She adored her dancing holiday animals 🐻🦌 and kept a big basket of stuffed animals on her dresser. Her beloved Cabbage Patch doll, Humphrey, always stayed by her bed. She loved her crystal figurines & angels.
An artistic soul to the very end 🎨, Mom created ceramic hearts, acorn bowls, and filled her walls with her coloring pages. She surrounded herself with memories, favorite clothes, flower arrangements, pictures, and the small comforts that made life joyful.
Mom will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. We hold tightly to the laughter, the love, and the simple moments we shared. Surrounded by the angels she loved so much, we take comfort in believing she is now an angel herself, watching over all of us.
Forever in our hearts ❤️
We love you MOM! 😇
