

Carl Morgan was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia to Orah Hersel Morgan and Lena Leota Lively on June 9, 1923. He married Afton Rigtrup, of Burley, Idaho, on September 9, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Brigham Young University. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy aboard the USS San Diego and was in said service when the USS San Diego became the first warship to cruise into Tokyo Harbor as a “test force” 48 hours before occupation day. He worked 31 years for the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, fulfilling many callings and assignments, including a two and one-half year mission to Argentina, and a temple worker in the Oakland, California and Sacramento, California temples for many years.
Carl Morgan is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and wife. He is survived by a son, Clyde Morgan; daughter, Pamela Morgan; and daughter, Nancy Shaltes. He has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
