Carmelita was born on January 20, 1943 in the Philippines. She retired as a Commissary Teller for the Department of Defense. Carmelita was a kind and caring woman who affectionately loved all of her family and friends. She was responsible for bringing her immediate family to the United States from the Philippines. Carmelita inspired and helped her family including those remaining in the Philippines. She generously supported many charities and diverse organizations. She was an active member in the American Legion Auxiliary Magellan Post 604 and Filipino American Veterans Association. She willingly offered her help and influenced everyone she had touched. Carmelita always brought out the best in all of us.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Juan Dabi and Feliza Dabi Flores; and her step-father John Flores.
She is survived by her husband, Federico Calindas; daughter, Carmela Calindas Yamamoto; son, Frederic Calindas; son-in-law, Darren Yamamoto; daughter-in-law, Teresita Calindas; granddaughters, Caitlin Nubla, Lauren Nubla, Raven Yamamoto, Natalee Rose Calindas, Elizabeth Grace Calindas, grandson, Alexander Calindas, as well as her siblings, Jose Dabi, Benjamin Dabi, Renato Dabi, Danilo Dabi, Marilou Dabi Abuan, and Juan Dabi Jr.
Carmelita will be dearly missed and her love will be forever cherished!
