

Carroll Patrick Ross, age 75, of Marion, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, January 21st 2020. Carroll was born in Easton, Maryland to Robert and Francis Ross. In 1969 he married Donna Graham in Sacramento California, they were united for 10 years. He was married to his second wife Cheri Smith from 1988-1998.
Carroll graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in journalism. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, from this he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. His time serving during the Vietnam War deeply impacted him and influenced the rest of his life greatly.
Carroll started his journey with Radial Tire Wholesale before buying his own tire business in Walnut Grove, CA with wife Cheri.
Carroll was always the life of the party, his passions were playing golf in his downtime and writing poetry. He even dabbled in entertaining as a clown! Carroll was given the nickname GeePaw Dirt by his grandchildren because of his dedicated help with yard work at his children's homes. Carroll was best known for his talent playing the piano, hanging spoons from his nose, and his ability to tell good (or dirty) jokes.
Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Ross and sister Margaret Schuyler. He was survived by his son Christopher Ross (since deceased). He is survived by his two sisters, MaryAnne Vogel and Kathy Ross, his daughter Patricia Nissen and 4 grandchildren (Will, Megan, Jacob, Nathan).
