I was absolutely heartbroken to learn that David passed away. At only 37, it's just not fair—cancer stole someone far too young, and the news hit me hard. I keep thinking about all the years we knew each other, and how much light he brought into everything he did.
When we were growing up, David was one of those rare people who was naturally good at everything he tried. He was the best at jumping BMX bikes—clearing gaps and jumps that no one else could touch. Then when we got into RC flying, he picked it up like it was nothing and was instantly one of the strongest pilots around. I helped him get started with FPV, and in return he turned me on to 3D printing. That was just how he was—always sharing what he loved and pulling people up with him.
What stood out most though was how humble he stayed. He never acted like he was better than anyone, even when he clearly was. He was always so kind and encouraging. He had this way of making you feel like you were doing great, then gently helping you get even better. He was genuinely understanding and supportive—the kind of friend who made you want to be a better version of yourself.
I had actually been thinking about reaching out to him just two weeks ago about some notary stuff, and finding out today that he was already gone… it’s been a real shock. It doesn’t feel real yet.
David leaves behind so many great memories and people who thought the world of him. I’ll always remember his talent, his humility, and that big-hearted way he carried himself.
