

Irmgard Reimer (Irma), age 91, a longtime resident of Fair Oaks, CA, passed away February 11, 2024 in Jackson, CA. She was preceded in death by Marvin Reimer (husband), Irmgard and Werner Baltzer (parents), and Gisela List (sister). She is survived by her sister, Erika Brandt, stepdaughters Bonnie (Dan) Barringer, Shelly (Brad) Rohrer, granddaughters Nikki (Levi) Castoe, Jamie (Kenny) Monday, Tara (Mike) Borchansky, 5 great-grandchildren: Cole, Tessa, Lauren, Mikey and Taylor, 3 nieces and a nephew. When Irmgard was 4 years old, her family moved from Germany to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Educated in German and Argentine schools she became fluent in German, Spanish and English. After completing a teaching scholarship in Germany, Irmgard traveled to the US to visit her sister. She met and soon married Marv Reimer and moved to Fair Oaks, CA. Irmgard taught first grade, Spanish and German at St. Alban’s Country Day School for 42 years as well as co-owned with her husband, Marv Reimer, Rancho Mini Truck (auto dismantler) in Rancho Cordova. Irmgard loved swimming. At the age of 16 she was the Argentine National Champion in her age group. She continued swimming her whole life earning numerous medals from swim competitions in the Sacramento Masters Swim Program. She also enjoyed jet skiing and traveling with her husband. But her overall passion was teaching children. As a member of the Christ Community Church, Irmgard enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed senior activities and volunteering at Arcade Creek Manor where she lived during her retirement years. Irmgard was comfortably cared for at Oak Manor in Jackson, CA where she lived her last few years as an active assisted Senior. Irma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and enthusiastic teacher. To honor Irmgard, a Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary (The Family Chapel), 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 on Saturday, June 29th at 10:30 am.
