To Coach Ernst.....you were a wonderful coach, teacher, and vice principal......I saw you as a fair, warm, friendly, and involved teacher, coach, and administrator......you were always there for students in so many ways and it was great to reconnect with you many years later when I was an educator...….your values and behavior as an educator rubbed off on me and played a role for me to work effectively with students in my career. You had a positive impact on many people throughout your life.....I can't think of a life better lived. Thank you so much

Sorry to hear of Lane's death earlier this month. I have fond memories of Clan MacBean Gatherings across the US and Canada where Lane and Bobbie were present with my parents. Lane was always interested in education, especially students I dealt with or the various musicals I was involved in. Lane and his beloved Bobbie are together again in peace. Many thanks Cliff for letting me know of Lane's passing.

I am so sorry that didn't have another lunch or dinner my former colleague and friend.  I have sorrow for not visiting more often, and now hope that he Rest In Peace.  Thank you, Lane...for all that you did for me, and all that you taught me.

So now Mr. Ernst is in heaven. He was a saint for putting up with the class of 1973. I alone gave him gray hair. A toast to him!

Thank you for all your years of service as an educator and vice principal at El Camino Fundamental High School. You made a difference in many a young persons mind and life. I remember you fondly as a wonderful teacher.

Lane was a class act.  He and Bobby enriched our lives so much at Mira Loma in the 60's.  Rest in peace.
