She is survived by her father, Edwin Harrison Allison, sister, Frances Rebecca Coletti (Harvey), brother-in-law, Robert Harvey, niece, Tamara Coletti Ballesteros (Arnam) and grand-niece, Lillian “Lilly” Marie Ballesteros, aunt Ernestine “Tina” (Smith) Morrison, step aunt, Janet “Ginger” (Sisk) Morrison, cousins, Margaret “Peggy” Ann (Morrison) Bruce, Roberta “Robbie” (Morrison) Lang, Pamela Jean Morrison and again numerous Hennessy relatives.
Judy had a rough start in life; she wasn’t expected to ever walk, talk or live a normal life. Her mother loved and protected Judy for 56 years. With the love and determination of her grandmother, Frances, a nurse, Judy learned to walk, talk and play like any other child. Although she was dependent on daily support, she learned the 3 Rs, and most importantly was able to go to her special schools, which was the love of her life. She attended school up until the Thursday before she passed away. When Tamara was born, she learned to feed and change those messy diapers; she was always proud of her Tamara. She was the “puzzle queen” – there wasn’t a puzzle she couldn’t do face up or face down, and up until her 40s did the most beautiful hand embroidery seen. Judy also loved those SF Giants. She could talk baseball with anyone and never missed a game on TV.
She was lucky to accompany her mother, father and sister to Japan in 1959 for 5 years. She experienced living in a Japanese house, eating Japanese food and getting to know the Japanese people. Her special friend Ura Kazuko of Tokyo assisted in her care.
The family wishes to thank Mame & Jenie and staff of Herjema Care for the steady, lovely care of Judy for 16 ½ years. She got to experience so much from going to dances, school, baseball games and making new friends. Thank you so much; we always knew she was safe and in capable hands.
Judy will be buried with her mother at Mt Vernon Memorial Park.
