Hi dad. A year later and it still feels the same. My heart longs to see your face and to hear your voice. I miss you so much. Mom's doing ok.She's getting by just like the rest of us. But our house sure feels empty... like a hollow box with no contents. I know you're with our God, and that gives me some peace. Still, I miss you like crazy. Our trio is now a duo. Mom & I talk about you often when we're driving around. We just really miss your dancing in the car, and waving to all kinds of strangers cause you said it was the polite thing to do. I guess I can sit here and go on & on about the times we miss, but then there are just not enough words. So I'll just say this... I miss you daddy. I love you dearly. May you forever rest with God :)

What a beautiful day Vae and the kids put together for you.  You were so blessed in your life.

I wanted so much to share my feelings for you during the days leading up to your final resting but I just didn't have the courage.  I wanted to share that as a young girl, I remember you taking me to school and how I always remember feeling safe when my small hand was held by your big hand, leading me across the road.  Nothing else mattered because I was felt safe.  Somehow that feeling carried me throughout my life when it came to you. I always knew that big brother will come to my rescue, and you always did.

I was blessed to have you as a big brother.  You always seemed to make things seem okay; you always seemed to have the knack to make my burdens lighter to carry.  What a true brother you were!

Rest in peace in the enveloping arms of our Heavenly Father.  You have served your God, family and country well.  Thank you for the love you shared with me.  I will love you forever!

Now the Lord has declared your battle won, and your journey on earth has come to end. We, who you have left behind, will miss you greatly, but we know that the joy you now have in our Heavenly Father's embrace far surpasses anything this world has to offer. What a wonderful moment that must have been when you closed your eyes on this earth, and opened them in paradise to hear the Lord say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Dad...words cannot express how much your presence is missed in our home.  I miss you daily but I'm comforted by the knowledge that you're at peace with our Father in Heaven.
