Gold River, California - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of June Huffman on October 5, 2023. June was born to Frederick and Gertrude Rugger in Oxford, Iowa on June 28, 1932. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School. In 1951 she earned her teaching degree at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
There she met a young man named Bill on a blind date. It was meant to be and resulted in 66 years of marriage. June spent several years as a school teacher until she became a full time mother with three sons, James (deceased), Thomas and Robert. They had one grandson, Ian (deceased) (wife Jaime) and three great grandchildren, Sean, Aaron and Lauren. In addition she leaves several nephews and nieces.
She eventually returned to work as a receptionist at several places over the years until her retirement.
June was devoted to God, her family and many friends. Her love and generosity were endless. She belonged to several women's groups and was an active PEO member right up until the end.
We love you and you will be missed by all.
