Kathryn M. Harvey passed peacefully in her sleep
January 12, 2015. Born in Santa Rosa, CA., Kathryn grew up in Santa Rosa and San Francisco. In 1931, at the
tender age of 16, she fell in love with Buell Harvey, the boy behind the candy shop counter, and eloped with him in an April rain storm. They were married 44 years
before his passing. They settled in Sacramento where they raised two children. She served as a civilian “Rosie the Riveter” and was commended for her skill with a lathe during WWII. She is remembered for her playful smile, kind, carefree heart, and feisty spirit. She loved sweets, the cinema, and a tidy house; her cookie jar was always full, her laughter always filled the kitchen, and her flower beds were always in bloom.
