Passed away February 11,2020 in Citrus Heights at the age of 102.
Survived by brother Adolph (Al) Flemmer (Carol) son Calvin Sprenger, daughter Alice Sivell (Steve)
Granddaughter Nicole Sivell (Aaron Hendel) Grandson Jonathan Sivell, Grandaughter Elizabeth Sivell, Many Nieces and nephews and their children.
Preceded in death by husband of fifty years Adolph Sprenger, son, Richard Sprenger,
Parents John J. and Christine Flemmer, sisters Ida Pauline Flemmer, Emma Sprenger, Brothers Peter, Edward, John and Arthur Flemmer.
Lydia was born in a sod house in North Dakota to immigrant parents, grew up on a farm close to Alaska, South Dakota. Eight siblings, sister Ida died of Diphtheria at 6 Months old. Hard work was the normal daily routine. Moved to California at 19 years old, with the family. Lydia worked as a domestic for
one dollar a day. Married in 1941, Lydia enjoyed being a wife and mother, sewing, cooking and gardening. Hand quilting was a life long enjoyment, designing and creating many beautiful quilts of all sizes.Lydia loved to walk, miles a day – did her yard work and shoveling snow in the winter in Pollock Pines, always singing hymns all day as she worked. She loved being with family and enjoyed neighbors and friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren, always asking about them and baking chocolate chip cookies for everyone.
