She passed away on December 19, 2020. She was 81 years young.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Friedrich and Katharina Schreiber, her husband, Caney Marler, and her grandson, Jarred Fox.
She is survived by her son and his family, Alan and Lisa Marler, and their daughter, Rachel Marler; her daughter and her family, Corine and Vernon Fox, and their daughter, Jennifer Fox.
Margarete lived most of her adult life in the communities surrounding Sacramento, California. In 1999, Margarete and Caney moved to a retirement community in Lincoln where she enjoyed playing cribbage and making cards with her neighbors. She loved spending time with her family and having luncheons with friends. She loved flowers, and she was often found tending roses in her garden and making floral arrangements.
After battling cancer for 6 years, she succumbed to the disease and the side effects of its treatment.
She was a loving, mother, grandmother, and wife.
