

Marilyn Jean (Huber) Zalunardo passed away peacefully at age 97 in Fair Oaks, California. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she grew up in a large Midwestern German Lutheran family. All of her family, including both sets of grandparents and 22 first cousins, lived close and attended the same church, Immanuel Lutheran.
While attending Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, Marilyn joined the Women's Volleyball and Drill teams. She enjoyed sorority life, tennis and choir. After graduation she moved to California with her family. She worked as the secretary to the General at Norton Air Force Base and then as the secretary to the President of Aerojet General Corporation. Soon after, she took a break and stayed home to raise her children. After many years, she returned to work and retired from an 18-year career with Mercy Hospitals as their Regional Purchasing Manager.
Marilyn's many hobbies included crocheting, painting, bowling, travel, choir, bible study and community service. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted children, son Rod (Faith); daughter Carolyn; grandchildren Brittney (Matt), Sean (Katie), Gray, Tara (Dare), Lindsey (Justin); great grandchildren Riley, Jack, Lincoln, Dean and new baby Paige.
Marilyn will be remembered for her love, strength, creativity, home cooked meals that brought everyone together and her faith in God.
