September 25, 1920-March 7, 2011
Mary died peacefully at home. Mary Ivory was a true southern lady, born in Alabama, and as a result she always had a little bit of a drawl. She was educated at the University of Washington, when finished traveled from San Francisco across the country from New York. Mary was one of the first flight attendants and had stories about some of the famous folks who flew with her.
She married Charles Ivory and settled in Sacramento where they raised 5 children, Peter, Andy, Mary, Patty, and Joe. When the kids were in there teens, she began her 30 year career as an elementary school teacher.
Through out her life she continued to travel whenever the opportunity arose. Her plan was to visit every continet which she almost did.
Her remaining 4 children, 4 grandchildren, their spouses and 3 great-grandchildren will miss her wit and adventure.
A memorial service will be 11am April 1, 2011 at St. Ignatius Church on Arden Way. A lunch reception will follow in the church community center.
