Mom, we will all miss you very much. You were the kindest, most gentle, caring person I have ever known. I loved doing silly things to get you laughing. I will miss that laughter. Even in your final days you were more concerned about everyone else then your own suffering. You are with our Lord now and don't need to suffer anymore. I thank God I was off work for two years enabling me to see you almost every week. I thank everyone for all the nice comments. I am sorry I never went back east with Mom to meet all our wonderful relatives. My sister and I were very fortunate to have been able to enjoy Mom all these years. She touched many of my friends lives with her kindness. Like one of my friends said, " She had a good run." Her love and kind spirit will always be with us. Goodbye Mom, See you at the gates of His Kingdom.

Mom, I am going to miss you. But I know that when we meet again it will be for eternity. I have been blessed to have you as my Mom. Always guiding me but never pushing me. Always loving me unconditionally. My house will feel empty without you here. I know that you are celebrating with Jesus now and you are finally able to see your Mommy. I remember you asking for her in your last days. I know you are at peace at last and that comforts me. I will miss your laughter, your kind words and just having you around to talk to. My condolences to Melvas family.  I had the pleasure of working with Melva for a long time.  Always the trainer that took us under her wing. Never knew anyone that could read so many books, she just loved to read. Such a nice lady.  Rest in peace Melva.  You will be missed.

Doug and I are really going to miss dear, sweet Melva~ we already do since the last few years she hasn't been able to really travel up to Sac (or Johnny's) and be with us from time to time like she always did before. She was a beautiful person and was like a mother to all of us. She opened up her home to many crazy teenagers back when we were teens. She even let me (Vicki) live there with her for a short time. I appreciate those things so much!! Melva was one of the most easy going and kind people I've ever met. She loved to laugh and smile ~ we will miss that smile. Melva and I shared the Aug 31 birthday so we got to share a few birthdays together ~ that was so special and I'll never forget it ~ especially when it was Melva's 80th birthday here at our house. A wonderful day it was. We added some photos but I'm not sure if they will be on here somewhere because I can't see them.  If not I will add them again!

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

I shared this Bible Verse with my parents years and told them I had my eye on this one, meaning Melva. 

Melva fell and broke her ankle so we all decided she should convalesce at our house, because she would have someone around all the time. After she went home she called and said she wasn't driving anymore. Hmmmmm! So I questioned her on this decision and it turned out she just felt like she didn't want to make any mistakes that might hurt someone else.  I  was” officially” her CRH TAXI..
Melva helped staff endlessly, training them, doing laundry for 70 plus children, giving breaks, filing endless paperwork and often doing new staff's work over while they were on break if she didn't think it would pass inspection…                       LOTS OF LAUGHS. 

Melva was a very special person that has been my friend for almost 35 years. She and my father were the same age and I considered myself bless to have her as a third parent.

Hi Melva,  I know you are busy with Jesus right now but I wanted to let you know how special and dear you became to me over the years.  It was an honor to know and love you.  You will be missed by many that are left behind.  I hope that you have already made contact with your family and friends you have been longing to see again.  Love  Bonnie Lee

Words are difficult at times like these.My heartfelt sympathy is with you.I never really got to know my Aunt Meb very closely. I remember the Day she got married. I was under the dining room table at Grandpops house I was about 5yrs old , and she came down the stairs in her wedding gown.How beautiful she was!. From the stories that my mother(her sister) would tell of her , it was always how kind she was. She will be greatly missed. I am sure she touched many lives with her caring ways. Sorry for your loss.  I always enjoyed Aunt Meb coming to Maryland and staying with us.  I will miss you and mom sitting at the table and talking about the old days.  I'm sure they are up there smiling down on us.

One of my aunts that I did not have much contact with. My mom had a picture of her in her wedding gown and she was a lovely bride. It was a pleasure to meet her at the family reunion in 2010.  R.I.P.Aunt Mebbie.

My sincere condolences to family and friends of Meb, prayers to all ,she will be missed.

I remember when Aunt Meb and all her siblings were together at Aunt June's and the last reunion in 2010. I miss her so she was a lovely Aunt.
