I say brief because he was soon hired by the Bureau of Reclamation. He worked on projects as a Civil Engineer Technician in Arizona, Oklahoma and Colorado. His work finally landed him in Fresno, California. In Fresno he worked on the Friant/Kern project, Friant Dam, San Luis Reservoir and the Central Valley project.
Life is funny sometimes. He transferred up to Sacramento after dissolving his first marriage. Maybe because of a lack of judgement, he fell on hard times and resigned from the Bureau. When things got better he went to work for the Department of Energy where he worked until he retired.
If you had the chance to meet this man, you know he was very dedicated to whatever he was working on. Be it a project for work, discovering his heritage through genealogy, working on his house or spoiling his dogs. There was just about nothing he couldn’t do if he set his mind to it.
If you knew him, please come be with his family to wish him a fond fair well.
Yep, that was my Dad.
