Nancy was born in Paunene, Maui, Hawaii on January 23, 1939. She graduated from St. Anthony’s in 1957. She then enlisted in the Air Force on August 09, 1957 and was stationed at Eglin A.F.B. in Florida. She left the Air Force with a honorable discharge on February 17, 1960 to raise her family.
Once her children were old enough, Nancy went back to work at the McClellan AFB Commissary while attending night school to earn her Accounting degree. Once she had her degree, her career took her to Mather AFB. Nancy accomplished many endeavors at Mather AFB from 1972 to 2001; store sales checker, Accounting Technician/Supervisor, Accounting, Budget Analyst, Acting Chief of Budget, and Financial Management Officer until base closure in late 1993. After a short stint at retirement, Nancy’s career took her to McClellan A.F.B. where she was a Supervisory Financial Program Advisor until 4/2001 when McClellan AFB went through base closure. Nancy then spent part-time working with the closure of McClellan AFB.
Nancy was one of a team of six persons that closed Mather Air Force Base (AFB) and McClellan AFB - Air Logistics Center (ALC). Through all of this, Nancy met and married her Soul Mate, Antonio in 1982.
Nancy enjoyed weekend trips to Reno, (she won pretty much every time she went), Lake Tahoe, several cruises and of course trips back home to Hawaii! You can take the girl out of Hawaii, but you can’t take Hawaii out of the Island Girl.
Nancy leaves with us her LEGACY: Dedication of Family, QUEEN of Family, Courage/Strength as a cancer survivor. MOTHER, WIFE and GRANDPARENT was her favorite role in Life. She did that lovingly and with all of her heart. Family came first and she instilled that in all of us. She was a mother to so many of our friends and a Nani to so many kids. She was and is loved by so many people. We thank GOD for allowing the time we had with her as our MOM. We love her always and she will be forever in our hearts!
