Nicola Yaqub Shammas, born in Jerusalem on the 24th of October in 1931, worked there as a pharmacist. He immigrated to America in 1985 and was a very active member in his beloved church St Virgin Mary Antiochian Orthodox and a very active volunteer in every manor at Ethel Heart Senior Center for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Marina; his eldest brother Issa Shammas and his wife Suad of Maryland; his brother George Shammas and his wife Afaf in Jerusalem; his sister Yolanda Morgannam; his nephews Jacob, Yousef; and his niece Christine.
A visitation will be held on Sunday May 15 from 3-5pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, with funeral services to follow on Monday May 16 at 11am.
A Mercy Meal will be held after the funeral service with the family at the Hometown Buffet located at 7028 Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights.
