February 20, 1958 – April 28, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Paul Fearn, who passed away on April 28, 2025, surrounded by family at the age of 67.
Paul was born on February 20, 1958, in Sacramento, California, to Marie and Robie Fearn. In his early years, he followed his passion for performing to Los Angeles, where he spent seven years chasing his dreams—working in law offices by day and auditioning by night, never giving up on his creative spirit.
Eventually, he returned home to Sacramento, where he began a new chapter working for the State of California and retiring after more than 25 years. During that time, Paul considered a new path—pursuing a law degree—and went back to school to earn his BA from Sacramento State University, but life had other plans.
It was in the theatre where Paul truly came alive. For over 45 years, he was a bright light in the Sacramento theatre community. A public servant by day and actor by night, Paul poured his heart into every performance—singing, dancing, acting, and directing in countless productions. He especially cherished his years at the Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse, and in more recent years, he found profound joy mentoring students as a volunteer actor at Sierra College. Paul shared his talent widely, bringing joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments to everyone fortunate enough to watch him perform.
Paul is survived by his loving mother, Marie; his three sisters—Judy, Jean, and Denise; his two brothers—Robie and David; his brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his closest friends of over 30 years—Scott and Sherie, along with their two sons, Charlie and Andrew—who he proudly called family. Paul’s circle of friends was wide, and all who knew him will miss him deeply.
One of Paul’s final performances was completed just weeks before his passing. When asked how he felt about it, he simply said,
“At least I finished the show.”
That was Paul—dedicated, proud, and full of heart. His passion, wit, and warmth will be missed more than words can say.
“Though his final act is complete, the joy Paul gave will echo through every curtain call to come.”
