Robert Gerald Cash

Robert Gerald (Bob) Cash was born July 14, 1928 in Sweetwater, Texas to Clyde William and Alta Pearl Cash. He was the second of six children and is survived by one brother, Kenneth Cash , of McGregor, Texas.

He graduated from McGregor High School in 1947 and began working for the Santa Fe Railroad as a telegrapher. He joined the Navy in 1949 and served three years and 9 months. He served aboard the USS Philippine Sea, an aircraft carrier, during the Korean War.

He was married to Helen Loraine for 57 years prior to her death. His son, John, and his granddaughter, Dawn Marie, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his three children and their spouses; Ron and his wife, Jeanie, Cheryl, and Terri and her husband, Randy. He leaves behind eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He loved to play golf. He was a member of the SIRS (Sons in Retirement Service), the Chippers, and played as recently as February of this year. He accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of fourteen and served Him faithfully for the next eighty years. He was an active member of Carmichael Baptist Church.

He will be missed by his family, his friends, and his brothers and sisters-in-Christ. However, we are praising God that this is not "Goodbye" and that we will meet again.
