Dr. Shafik R. Yousif
January 23, 1942 – June 24, 2025
With deep sorrow and steadfast hope in the resurrection, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and faithful servant of Christ, Dr. Shafik R. Yousif, who departed to be with the Lord on June 24, 2025, at the age of 83.
Dr. Shafik was a devoted member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, a devout man of prayer, and a living example of Christ’s love, humility, and sacrifice. Born in Egypt, he immigrated to the United States in 1983, where he built a life firmly rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Though he practiced medicine for over 50 years with excellence and compassion, his greatest joy and fulfillment came through his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, and servant of God. A long-standing and active member of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Sacramento, Dr. Shafik served with unwavering faith and quiet strength, always placing others before himself and living out the Gospel in word and deed.
His life was marked by profound sacrifice, determination, and generosity. To know him was to witness a heart overflowing with kindness, wisdom, and peace. He touched countless lives through his healing hands, thoughtful words, and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mrs. Magdolin Yousif, his loving children Maged (Nermeen) Yousif and Magi (Andrew) Yanney, and his cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Jonathon, Nicholas, and Zachary. He is also lovingly remembered by a large extended family in the United States and Egypt, all of whom were blessed by his presence.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Roseville, followed by the burial at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary in Fair Oaks, CA.
We ask for your prayers for the repose of his soul, that our Lord may grant him rest in the Paradise of Joy, in the bosom of our holy fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—until we meet again in the heavenly Jerusalem.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
