surrounded by her family and dear friends.
Born in Mexico City, Mexico. Her family migrated to the United States where she became the first in
her family to be an American Citizen and college graduate.
At Whittier College, she earned a BA in Political Science and minor in English. Shortly after
college, she worked as an aide for Sen. Don Perata at the California State Capital, thereafter she
became a legislative staffer for the California State Senate.
In her spare time, she volunteered for the Medical Reserve Corp, where she was trained to respond
and help public medical professionals during community health needs, disasters, and other public
health emergencies.
Sora was proud to be a certified deep water diver that was able to explore the hidden worlds of our
oceans; sharing her passion for diving with her niece Breean and nephew Justin. In addition, she
enjoyed skydiving, water skiing, pencil sketching, playing guitar, creative writing, and video
games. Sora is survived by her four siblings, Isai, Karen, Simri, Jerico, her father Gabriel,
nieces and nephews- whom she loved as if they were her own.
Our beloved Sora will be missed, but her legacy will live on in all of us.
