Steven Pete Hambrick was born to Roy Eugene and Ruth Claire Hambrick on January 30, 1953 in Hayward, California. They were a young couple Ruth 18 and Roy 19 years of age. They built a great life in the San Francisco Bay Area, having 3 more children, Michael, Linda, and Martin. They bought a home in Castro Valley. Steven has many fond memories as a child of playing with his friends, he pointed out places they would ride their bike where today it is a freeway. He spent wonderful times at his grandparents, PoPo and Granny at the East Bay Watershed Dam. Sadly baby Michael passed away and Martin passed away at 22 years in an accident. Marty’s death had a profound impact on Steve. He worked in retail, manufacturing and in 1982 had a son Shane. Steve loved Shane and provided the best home for Shane, being a single dad. Shane and Steven went on many camping trips to Yosemite, car races, and spent much time with Grammy and Grandpa in Castro Valley. Steven met his wife Margaret in 1992 and married in 1993. They had a son, Martin Eugene and together with their blended family, enjoyed their lives together. They enjoyed trips, camping, and the wonderful tasks of raising children to teens to adults. Steven and Margaret went through the years together, doing things with the kids and themselves. Steven was a homebody, he loved to take care of his homes and did everything by himself. He accomplished so much, remodeling the homes he was a do it yourself man. He could be seen on his days off on some sort of a home project or maintaining the yard. This brought him so much job. There is a 12 to 18 year gap between Martin and his siblings, so Martin was the baby of the family. Steven and Martin were very close, more than father and son. Friends, and enjoyed similar interests. Steven was devoted to his mother. He loved her and took care of her needs when she needed him to. Steven is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Shane and Martin, step son Phillip, step daughters Jennifer and Stephanie, grandchildren, Ethan, Sean, Samantha, Jeffrey, Jayden, Bryce, Andrew, and Isabella, sister Linda, nephew Jim, many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his brothers Michael, Martin, parents Ruth and Roy.
