Wiley Haston Terrell was born the fourth of 10 children in Guin, Alabama on February 24, 1936 to the union of Owens and Phoebe Terrell. After attending Guin High School he followed his brother’s footsteps and joined the Air Force, retiring proudly after serving his country for 24 years. Wiley met and married his lovely wife Nenita Corpin while stationed in the Philippines. To this union was born two sons, Derrick and Adrian.
Upon retirement from the military Wiley relocated to Rancho Cordova, CA, where he worked for 3 years as a real estate broker and 17 years for the US Post Office. He enjoyed playing tennis, socializing and visiting family. Carrying on the Terrell tradition and love of bowling, Wiley and Nenita spent years as part of a military couples bowling league and brought the passion with them to California.
Wiley loved his grandchildren greatly and they brought immense enjoyment to his life. He followed all of their sporting events with pride and was a very vocal attendee, not only at their games, but at their practices as well. For many years he hosted family and friends for 4th of July breakfast at his home and coordinated the annual picnic at the local park.
Wiley passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by both parents – Phoebe and Owens Terrell; 3 brothers – Owens, Sam and Arthur Terrell; 1 sister – Gwen Terrell Collins. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Nenita; 2 sons Derrick (Leslie Ann), Adrian (Alisha); 1 brother – Harold Terrell (Elaine); 4 sisters – Lena Tuttle, Barbara Faye Smith (Wilbur), Francine Banford and Deborah Harrison; 3 sisters in law Joyce Marie Terrell, Joyce Mae Terrell, Ceferina Cabillan; 3 brothers in law – Tanny Corpin (Lilia), Thomas Corpin, Max Corpin; and 4 grandchildren – DeVonni, DeAundre, Darius, and Lanaya Terrell.
