Arnoldo proudly served his country as a member of the armed forces from 1952 to 1954. He met his wife of 64 years Emma Catalina Marroquin at the town’s plaza in 1954. Together they had six children, Carlos, David, Arnoldo, Jr. (Nuni), Lydia, Laida, and Edmundo (Eddie). Arnoldo was devoted to his community and served as Jim Hogg County’s Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3 for 24 years. In this role, he performed hundreds of marriages for community members, friends, and family.
He volunteered his time as a coach for the local youth baseball and softball teams, taking the girls’ softball team to state for the first time in the 1980s. He was a proud member of the VFW and American Legion.
Family and friends will fondly remember Arnoldo for his generosity, affection for Swisher Sweets, quick wit, and resolve to treat everyone he met as family

Arnoldo is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Garza; grandson, Aaron Sharp; siblings, Concepcion Cantu, Alberto Garza, Beatriz Garza and Alonzo Garza.
He leaves behind many precious memories to be cherished by his family; wife, Emma M. Garza of Hebbronville; sons, Carlos Garza of McAllen, Arnoldo (Gloria) Garza Jr. of Hebbronville, and Edmundo J. (Gina) Garza of Hebbronville; daughters, Lydia (Sidney) Sharp and Laida (Benny) Valdez both of Hebbronville; brother, Mario (Rosario) Garza of Hebbronville; sisters, Maria G. Salazar (Jesus✝) of Hebbronville and Noelia (Oscar) Herrera of Corpus Christi; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Gabriel Garza, Eric D. Garza, Arnoldo Garza, III, David J. Valdez, Travis Sharp, Andrew E. Garza, and Diego J. Valdez
Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with visitation starting at 4 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
