Consuelo B. Lopez

Consuelo “Chelo” B. Lopez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at a nursing home in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on July 12, 1927 to Pantaleon Bazan and Paula Garza Bazan in Falfurrias, Texas. Chelo was a housewife.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roberto Lopez; two brothers, Ramon and Jesus Bazan and four sisters, Guadalupe Benavides, Antonia Benavides, Enriqueta Garcia and Aurora Benavides.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son, Gilivaldo Lopez of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Selena Astello, Sara Ann Lopez and Mark Anthony Lopez; many great-grandchildren; a niece and great nephew who took care of her and whom she lived with for some time, Gloria Ramirez and her son, Basilio Ramirez, Jr. both of Portland, Texas and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
