Our beloved patriarch, Eraclio Bernal “EB” Salinas, peacefully ascended to eternal unity and rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 12, 2026, at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the blessed age of 96.
EB was the devoted husband of Maria de la Luz Trevino Salinas for 67 beautiful years and a one-of-a-kind father to his children, David and Lizette. To all who knew him, EB was recognized as an unselfish soul, steadfastly dedicated to serving others and always willing to lend a helping hand without expectation of reward. He was a past Little League President and President of the Jersey Quarterback Club for many years.
He took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchild, who were truly his joy, and he was equally proud of all of his nieces and nephews. EB gave his heart and soul every day of his life to his family, and for that, they remain forever grateful. He was a loyal and dedicated Jersey supporter and fan. EB was also an avid Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Astros fan.
EB was born on November 15, 1929, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Cecilio Salinas and Cenovia Chapa Salinas Jr., and was raised alongside his six sisters. He was a proud Korean War veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Military Police, a service he held with honor throughout his life. He was the business owner and operator of EB Salinas Wholesale in Falfurrias for over 20 years.
Waiting for him in Heaven with open arms are his parents and his beloved sisters: Genoveva (Manuel) Martinez, Consuelo (J.M.) Garcia, Rebecca (Noe) Lozano, Rosita (Ynocencio) Garza, Eulalia (Raul) Trevino, and Cecilia (Buck) Garza.
